Role Objective
The Demand Analyst works closely with customers and internal VC departments to analyse and control the customer’s production demand flow in to VC. The Demand Analyst has the overall responsibility for the development, maintenance and day to day operation of the business demand model, and shall be the primary focal point for receiving and modelling all customer’s demand. The Demand Analyst shall interface with key business stakeholders such as Operations to set the build plan, Project Management for trend analysis and customer production forecasting, and Finance for sales and growth forecasting. They shall also produce standard management charts and KPIs that can be used to make critical business decisions.

Role and Responsibilities
The Demand Analyst following role and responsibilities:

  • Develop, improve and maintain the business demand model.
  • Working with the Regional Project Managers, obtain and review customer demand data and be the focal point for all customer demand inputs.
  • Analyze changes and trends in the customer’s communicated demand so that any changes and trends can be modelled for their potential risks and impacts to sales, inventory and production interruption.
  • Support the Operations team when they translate the customer demand to an internal build schedule.
  • Interface with the Materials Manager when they translate the customer demand to a material supply chain delivery schedule.
  • Support the Regional Project Managers in the preparation of standard reporting and KPI charts for weekly and monthly customer reviews.
  • Prepare the charts and KPIs for the monthly internal demand review detailing the customer’s current consumption performance, trend analysis, and the future longer-term forecast.
  • Support the Regional Project Managers in providing summarised and detailed management information and project reporting to internal stakeholders.
  • Support the Regional Project Managers and customers in standardising the demand / scheduling format that is received to enable a more effective and lean operation of the demand model.
  • Support the Regional Project Managers, Chief Commercial Officer, and Finance team in modelling the future demand in an accurate sales and growth forecast for budgeting purposes.

The ideal candidate for the role will have a good understanding of production planning and demand forecasting. They will have exceptional IT skills and a very high level of proficiency in Excel. They will be a collaborative team player, capable of thinking and acting independently, who is able to develop strong and beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Able to grasp complex data and produce management level reports and KPIs that enable critical decisions to be made.

Essential Skills:

  • High level of proficiently in business desktop applications (Microsoft), specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High level of data interrogation and analysis skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and customer facing experience.
  • Minimum 4 years experience working in a production environment (Aerospace industry is an advantage but not essential).
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives, and to review and develop internal processes and methods of working.
