Velocity Composites Inc. specialises in supplying engineered kits to the aerospace composites industry. The Company is primarily involved in the configuration/development, production and delivery of bespoke kits and constructions for advanced composite manufacturing both in civil and military aerospace. 1st shift: 6.00am – 14.45pm with 45mins break – $15 per hour
2nd shift: 14.30pm – 23.15pm with 45mins break – $17 per hour

Main Responsibilities
The Logistics Operative is responsible for moving, handling, and transporting a wide range of differing textiles and materials, both raw and finished goods.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Moving, handling, and transporting a wide range of differing textiles and materials, both raw and finished goods. Follow through of any discrepancies that arise.
- Driving Counterbalance forklift truck and other vehicles (all under 3.5 tons axle weight) to deliver products to operational areas within customer premises.
- Delivering product to customer sites as well as offering on site support.
- Unpack shipments in the storeroom and categorize them appropriately.
- Undertaking general warehousing duties as directed.
- Liaise with Site Management on delivery and dispatch inquiries.
- Working in large freezers at below -18 degrees C (Intermittently – PPE provided).
- Attendance at and contribution to team and departmental meetings and company updates.
- Comply with Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at site, maintaining a safe working environment and suggesting improvements to Health & Safety.
- Any other reasonable ad hoc tasks that arise at the request of the Manager.
Requirements/Skills
- Previous experience of working in a busy logistics department is essential as is an understanding the way in which these departments work.
- Ability to physically lift and move products and raw materials into and out of vehicles while working safely in accordance with safety and quality standards.
- Good team worker with strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident in dealing directly with customers when delivering products to external sites.
- A full, clean current driving licence is essential. A counterbalance forklift truck license is essential.
- Experience of working in a business that applies strict quality assurance standards and lean and continuous improvement working methods would be a distinct advantage.
